A. This essay is chalk full of details, from beginning to end. A few for instance are his encounter with the bear where he bravely or maybe even stupidly tried to stand his ground with a 500 lbs animal. He explains how he tried to stare down the beast, “…I fervently hoped that the power of the human eye over wild beasts would prove as great as it said to be.” This small detail helps lead the reader to think of the different emotions the author might have felt in that moment, which makes that the larger idea.
